Description | Enrique Mendoza Merlot-Monastrell Crianza - Red Wine
Enrique Mendoza Merlot-Monastrell Crianza - Red Wine is a red wine from the Alicante region, produced by Bodegas Enrique Mendoza from equal parts Monastrell and Merlot. It results from sustainable viticulture, with selected grapes from Finca “El Chaconero” and the “Valle de las Quebradas”, combining the sweetness and elegance of Merlot with the Mediterranean character of Monastrell.
Fermented in small stainless steel tanks, this wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels and ages for 12 months in French Allier and American Oregon oak barrels. In the glass, it presents a medium-high intensity ruby-red color with garnet reflections.
On the nose, ripe fruit, red berries and strawberries stand out, accompanied by hints of smoke, charcoal, cigar box and spicy notes of Mediterranean undergrowth. On the palate, it reveals a round and serious entry, with fine and elegant tannins. The contribution of Monastrell brings greater freshness, vivacity and a more cheerful profile.
It should be served between 14 and 15 ºC. It is an excellent choice to accompany sausages, roasts, stews, grilled meats, game, meat rice dishes, and goat cheeses. Due to its artisanal production method, it may develop natural sediments over time.
