Quinta de Covela
In the Vinho Verde region, in Baião, Quinta de Covela rises like an amphitheater overlooking the Douro River, the birthplace of the iconic Avesso grape variety. Formerly owned by filmmaker Manoel de Oliveira, it was reborn in 2011 under Lima & Smith, dedicated to certified organic farming. It produces white and rosé wines of great purity, elegance, and strong expression of terroir.
