Description | PX Murillo - Fortified Wine
PX Murillo - Fortified Wine, from Lustau, is a generous Jerez wine made exclusively from the Pedro Ximénez grape variety. It was selected and bottled for the first time in 1996, on the occasion of the centenary of Bodegas Lustau. Its name comes from the Murillo winery, where the solera aged for 15 years according to the traditional solera and criaderas system, in American oak casks.
It has a very dark and deep ebony color. On the nose, it reveals intense notes of ripe fruit, jam, and dried plums, accompanied by a background of licorice and molasses. On the palate, it is very sweet, velvety, and smooth, with a balanced profile and a very long finish, characteristics that highlight the richness and concentration typical of this style.
It should be served between 10 and 12 ºC. It is an excellent choice to accompany tarts, cakes, chocolate desserts or vanilla ice cream. It also pairs very well with blue cheese, creating an intense and captivating contrast.
