Description | Dona Ermelinda Reserve - Red Wine
Dona Ermelinda Reserva - Red Wine, from Casa Ermelinda Freitas, is a wine from the Setúbal Peninsula made from the Castelão, Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Trincadeira grape varieties. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by a prolonged maceration of 20 days, a process that contributes to the concentration and structure of the wine. After fermentation, it ages for 12 months in French oak half-barrels and completes its evolution with 8 months of bottle aging.
It presents an intense, almost opaque garnet color, and an aromatic profile marked by black fruit, spices and hints of smoke, with notes of jam associated with aging and maturation. On the palate it reveals itself as dense, full-bodied and well-structured, with soft and well-integrated tannins, providing an enveloping and balanced tasting experience. The finish is long, persistent and expressive, confirming the character of this reserve wine.
It's a versatile choice at the table, pairing particularly well with meat dishes and cheeses, including soft cheeses and those with a more intense flavor.
