Description | BEYRA Sauvignon Blanc - White Wine
BEYRA Sauvignon Blanc - White Wine is a white wine from Beyra, produced in the Beira Interior region from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. It results from grapes originating from the village of Vermiosa, in the Castelo Rodrigo sub-region, cultivated in schist soils at an altitude of approximately 750 meters. This altitude and soil setting contributes to the wine's identity and the expression of the grape variety in this area of inland Portugal.
According to available information, the grapes are harvested manually and taken to the winery for total destemming and immediate crushing. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 16 and 17 ºC for about 20 days. Afterwards, the wine ages on its lees with batonnage for 15 days, followed by a 5-month aging period in the winery.
Produced exclusively with Sauvignon Blanc, this wine showcases an approach focused on the purity of the fruit and the precision of the winemaking process. The combination of freshness provided by the altitude, fermentation in stainless steel, and brief contact with fine lees contributes to a carefully crafted profile that is true to its origin.
