Description | Alto Moncayo Garnacha - Red Wine
Alto Moncayo Garnacha - Red Wine is a red wine from Campo de Borja made exclusively from the Garnacha grape variety, one of the great references of this region of Aragon. Produced by the Alto Moncayo winery, it presents itself as a wine with an intense and expressive profile, born from old vines between 40 and 70 years old, which contributes to its concentration and depth.
In color, it reveals a deep cherry-red with violet reflections. The aroma is marked by ripe red and black fruit, with notes of plum, blackberry, and cherry, enveloped by spicy hints of cinnamon and black pepper. Subtle balsamic nuances, mineral notes, and cocoa notes associated with barrel aging also emerge.
On the palate, it is enveloping, structured and silky, with firm tannins and a notable acidity that gives it freshness and balance. Flavors of ripe fruit, spices and light toasty notes stand out, lingering in a long and persistent finish. It ages for 18 to 20 months in new French and American oak barrels, gaining aromatic complexity and aging potential.
It is recommended to decant for about an hour before serving and enjoy between 14 and 16 ºC. It is an excellent accompaniment to main courses of roasted red meat and game.
